A public high school with ~2500 students. I communicate and collaborate with 12 team members, facilitating the alignment of departmental objectives with broader institutional goals. Chair duties include interviewing science teacher applicants, course scheduling, orders and inventory, leading meetings, disseminating information, site instructional leadership team, and day-to-day operational needs. I am also a teacher mentor and teacher candidate district support provider for Alliant University. I took a lead role in our WASC accreditation process. I teach biology, chemistry, and physics to classes of 30-38 students and am certified to teach English language learners using SDAIE (Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English).

A private K-12 school with approximately 350 students in Rancho Mirage, CA. I was the science department head for middle school and high school with four team members. I was responsible for ensuring the science curriculum is aligned both vertically and horizontally as well as with the NGSS standards and general laboratory management (ordering, maintenance, and inventory). I taught AP Biology, biology, 8th-grade physical science, and 6th-grade earth science. I was a teacher sponsor of the school's United Way student chapter. Other roles included organizing fundraising activities, hosting activities for prospective students, and implementing student character education.

I was the interim high school science department head in 2017 while teaching physics, environmental science, and biology. I also co-sponsored of the Global Ambassadors Club and co-lead for the 9th-grade experiential education program. I developed an authentic inquiry-based service-learning beach micro-plastics sampling experience for the 9th-grade experiential education experience. I was a member of the committee on curriculum and assessment improvements.

A private K-12 school with ~1700 students teaching a US and Colombian diploma curriculum. Four years teacher middle and high school science. I took part in implementing an integrated science curriculum based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). In 2014, I was pivotal in securing a $20,000 Technology Integration Program (TIP) grant for the purchase of laptops and iPads for use in the the high school science laboratories. I was also the 6th grade team leader, part of the School Accreditation Self-Assessments Committee, a FCD (Freedom from Chemical Dependency) mentor, and assistant track and field coach.
